ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: VSAT Technician/Engineer/Trainer responsible for installation, maintenance and training of fixed and mobile satellite networks. Provide level 2 and level 3 support for Swiftlink customers. Duties require on-call responsibilities for customer support. Duties also include technical writing for documentation, system specifications, set-up procedures and user-manuals as well as developing/coordinating final production of such deliverables. Travel to the end customer site is expected to average up to 25%. PRIMARY DUTIES: * Must have experience performing bench testing and repair of Satellite and Networking equipment. * Must have hands on experience testing and troubleshooting satellite voice and data networks. * Must be able to travel and train customers on Swiftlink products. * Must have the ability to provide technical content on proposals for VSAT equipment. * Ability to work in a fluid fast paced technical environment with minimal supervision. * Possesses technical writing/editing and oral communication skills, and must be able to interact comfortably and professionally with the client and senior management. * Must be able to read and comprehend design and installation documents associated with the implementation of VSAT networks. * Ability to work well in a team environment and/or independently, with limited direction, to meet schedule and objectives.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum of one year of Cisco routing experience. CCNA desirable. * Minimum of a Active Secret Clearance required. * Minimum of one year of formal training experience, instructor certified desirable. * Minimum of three years experience operating and managing VSAT-based satellite systems (hubs and remote terminals). * Minimum of three years experience operating and maintaining iDirect and/or Linkway satellite networks. * Minimum three years experience monitoring and controlling VSAT systems and associated services. * Experience administering computer systems (Windows/Unix/Linux) desirable.
