Basic understanding of the building construction trade including estimating, HVAC, 3-phase AC, low voltage electrical (fire alarm, data, security alarm), etc. Specific Job Description Project Engineer (with system engineering experience) that will be responsible for overall engineering, cost, schedule and technical implementation for the Close Combat Tactical Trainer (CCTT) and Reconfigurable Vehicle Tactical Trainer (RVTT) development engineering projects in the Immersive Training program area.
Responsibilities include: . Lead the engineering functions (systems, software, hardware, logistics, technical manuals, training, safety, reliability, and human factors) to meet schedule/budget/technical project requirements. . Work closely with Government customer on all aspects of development and serve as LM technical contact. . Work risks and opportunities for the project and serve to "look around the corner" for Program Manager (PM) on any engineering or technical issues. . Ensure project maintains system architecture and often serve as system architect. . Ensure project schedule is maintained and updated (in conjunction with Planner). . Maintain staffing through RAPs, GANTT dates, and addressing performance issues. . Ensure engineering peer reviews are completed per process in all functions. . Author Engineering/Operations Rough-Order-of-Magnitude (ROM) estimates in conjunction with Operations Program Manager (OPM) for PM (Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), out-of-scope items, etc). . Author Project Engineering (PE) Basis-of-Estimates (BOEs), technical volume, and Integrated Master Schedules (IMSs) for new work scope. . Author and present project slides for customer design reviews, management reviews, Independent Program Assessments (IPAs), Program Management Reviews (PMRs), etc. . Ensure adequate technical specifications are flowed to all project subcontractors. . Ensure project engineering plans and processes are up-to-date and are being followed (System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and all related plans, key characteristics, etc). . Mentor project functional leads. . Ensure exemplary work by team members is recognized by awards (Spot, SRA, informal project awards, etc). . Keep an eye out for engineers that can work multiple functional areas to gain breadth of experience and encourage their participation in varied engineering tasks/functions.
