In general, the incumbent is responsible for the test and evaluation of aeropower materials.  This includes making samples, running experiments and performing tests to accurately predict product performance. Good communication skills and teamwork is expected to effectively coordinate efforts within R&D and external departments. The incumbentwill be responsible for the successful testing and evaluation of materials concepts, media and uired Skills
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES LISTED BELOW:
* Run chemical, mechanical and electrical tests and issue test reports.
* Perform dimensional tolerance analysis, basic fluid flow calculations and chemical calculations.
* Create simple manufacturing sketches, drawings and engineering documentation for the production of new products and simple tools.
* Prepare test samples using lab equipment for materials testing.
* Work with R&D engineers and customers to define the test and design requirements for filter media, elements and assemblies.
* Write test plan and run mechanical, electrical and chemical experiments and tests.
* Run injection molder, polymer extruder, Carver film press, environmental chamber, automatic tensile tester and ASTM impact tester.
* Run heat soaks and media tests.
* Maintain R&D test database.
 Required Experience
EDUCATION/PRIOR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
* AS degree, or equivalent, in engineering or sciences plus minimum two years of experience as an engineering technician or aide, pertaining to automotive or aerospace products.
* Good computer skills, experienced in spreadsheet analysis and report writing.
* Experienced in chemical, mechanical or material testing and DOE.
* Strong analytical skills and good knowledge in the areas of physics and chemistry.
* Familiar with basic aerospace and industrial MIL, ISO, and NFPA specs.
* Ability to work well as a team member in a team environment.
* Experienced in testing, general laboratory and manufacturing techniques and methods.
* AutoCAD or CATIA training preferred.
* Familiarity with machining and metal working processes preferred.
