Job Description - Data Analyst
Purpose of Position:
This position is responsible for ongoing retrieval and analysis of revenue and sales financial information, obtained from a variety of sources, including demographic data.
It involves development and preparation of information for various staff members.
It requires the ability to analyze revenue and sales information from conceptualization through presentation of the data.
It requires proficiency with analytical tools, knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of customer service.
Essential Job Functions and Accountability's/Function Goal Outcomes
Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standalone customer requests.
Delivery of sophisticated analysis products.
Accurate and appropriate interpretation of data.
Develop useful and insightful information from a variety of data sources.
Works with Marketing and Sales staff to develop and understand specifications.
Delivers data products in report/presentation format, or verbally, to customer specifications and timelines.
Thoughtful evaluation of data.
Communicates results effectively to customers or key stakeholders.
Develop programs, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data. Well-organized, documented, and maintained data files.
Well written, accurate programs to analyze and extract revenue/sales information.
Develops appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and presenting data.
Use and support database applications and analytical tools: evaluate data quality, applications, and functions, produce output, and maintain routine reporting.
Smooth running database applications that support customer needs.
Appropriate and optimal use of applications and tools. Develops systems/reports to house and access key revenue and sales information.
Delivers data to customer specifications and timelines.
Engage users/customers to ensure timely and appropriate participation in data collection and query methodologies.
Research new data sources and analytical tools; contribute to new customer product development and improvement in delivery and presentation.

Specific Job Skills
Demonstrated experience using advanced Excel/Access features and techniques required.
Demonstrated experience in analysis and presentation of data required.
Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files, including large complex files: analyzing file structure, using and creating file layouts, transforming raw data into finished products.
Familiarity with various types and sources of sales and revenue information, including financial and demographic data files.
Experience with database application development.
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
Comfortable working independently, within in a team environment.
Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Marketing members and staff.
Physical ability to use computer hardware and software required.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English required.
Job Conditions
Position requires working in an office environment and with usual office equipment including computers, copiers, etc.
